The player-run market

An economy the
server referees,
but never holds.

Waystone runs two connected economies. Gold moves through an in-game Grand Exchange priced by what players gather and craft. Real value moves through a USDC market that settles peer-to-peer on Solana — buyer to seller, wallet to wallet. The world server verifies every trade on-chain; it is the referee, never the custodian.

Two layers, one world

Gold for the world.
USDC for real value.

Most trading happens in gold, earned entirely in-game. When players want to trade for real value, the USDC market settles directly between their own wallets — the same items, a different rail.

GP

The Grand Exchange

An in-game order book priced by supply and demand. Post a buy or sell offer and the server matches it against the book. Every coin in circulation was earned — from a monster drop, a mined vein, a cooked catch or a crafted bar.

  • Buy & sell offers with automatic matching
  • Prices discovered by real player activity
  • Supply comes only from gameplay, never a shop faucet
$

The USDC Market

List an item for a USDC price and the item is held by the server while your payout wallet is frozen to the listing. A buyer pays that wallet directly on Solana. Nothing routes through a platform account.

  • Buyer pays the seller's wallet directly
  • Settled with SPL TransferChecked on Solana
  • Server verifies the transfer before delivery

How a USDC trade settles

Five steps. No middleman wallet.

  1. 01

    List

A seller lists an item and price. The item is escrowed by the server; the seller's payout address is frozen to that listing.

  2. 02

    Reserve

A buyer reserves the listing, locking it for a short window so two buyers can't pay for the same lot.

  3. 03

    Pay the seller

The buyer signs one Solana transaction paying USDC straight to the seller's wallet — plus an optional protocol fee — in a single TransferChecked.

  4. 04

    Verify on-chain

The server reads the confirmed transaction's pre/post token balances from an RPC node and checks the seller was paid the exact amount. Idempotent by signature.

  5. 05

    Deliver

Only after the on-chain proof clears does the item move to the buyer's inventory. Funds were never in escrow — the platform can't hold or lose them.

At no step do funds touch a Waystone-controlled wallet. The server proves the trade; it never holds the money.

Keeping value honest

Faucets in.
Sinks out.

A healthy economy needs as many ways for wealth to leave as to enter. Waystone's gold and items flow in from play and drain out through use — so a bank balance stays meaningful.

The trust model

Server-authoritative, wallet-owned.

Non-custodial

USDC moves wallet-to-wallet. Waystone never takes possession of player funds — there is nothing to freeze, seize or lose.

On-chain verified

Delivery waits on a confirmed Solana transaction whose token balances prove the seller was paid the exact price.

Idempotent by signature

Each settlement is keyed to its transaction signature, so a retry or replay can never deliver an item twice.

Frozen payout address

The seller's payout wallet is bound to the listing at creation, so a later account change can't redirect a live sale.

Bounded prices

Listings are clamped between 0.01 and 10,000 USDC per lot, keeping fat-finger and manipulation lots out of the book.

Server-granted supply

Every item and coin originates from server-authorised gameplay — the economy can't be minted from the client.

Common questions

Before you trade.

Do I need a wallet to play?

No. The entire game — all sixteen skills, bosses and the gold Grand Exchange — is free and needs no wallet. A Solana wallet is only required if you choose to buy or sell on the USDC market.

Is my money ever held by Waystone?

Never. USDC transfers go directly from the buyer's wallet to the seller's wallet on-chain. The server only reads the blockchain to confirm the payment happened before releasing the item.

Which token and network is used?

Circle's USDC on Solana. The exact mint address and network are shown live in the market panel above, straight from the server config.

What happens if my payment fails or is interrupted?

No transfer, no delivery — and the listing's short reservation simply expires so someone else can buy it. Because settlement is keyed to the transaction signature, a retry can never double-charge or double-deliver.

How are in-game prices set?

By players. Gold prices come from live buy/sell offers on the Grand Exchange, and USDC prices are whatever a seller lists and a buyer accepts. Waystone doesn't set or subsidise prices.
